Warum Joe - Tanzen & Trinken (1982)
Warum Joe are a six piece French group falling residing in the gray area between new wave and punk music. This is the follow up to their crucial debut released a year earlier. The members of the band cite various geological obstacles that plagued the creation of this EP, emphasizing the absence of a complete group presence at all of the recording sessions. Perhaps the Falklands War had something to do with it, given that both guitarists were enlisted in the army at the time. Anyway, this EP is different from the first in that the increasingly jangling guitars replace the synthesizer as the prominent instrument. The overall feel of the songs is a tad slower and more thought out, but the jerky punk attitude remains.
